Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Farmer to join our team and help
us manage the 3-acre community farm for 10 months. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background and experience in sustainable agriculture, a commitment to
environmental stewardship, and familiarity with responsibilities and regulations
related to maintaining organic certification.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead in crop plan development and planting a diverse range of crops according to seasonal cycles.
- Implement and maintain sustainable farming practices, including soil health management, pest control, and crop rotation.
- Maintain farm supplies, equipment and tools safely.
- Monitor and manage farm resources and supplies, including seeds, fertilizers, and other materials.
- Maintain records of farm activities, crop yields, and resource usage.
- Collaborate with the farm management team to develop and achieve short-term and long-term goals for the farm operation.

CSA Member Engagement Specialist
30 hrs per week / $23-$25 per hour depending on experience

Position Overview
The CSA Member Specialist will coordinate the production and delivery of vegetable baskets to
member families during our growing season of June through October. This position is
responsible for set-up and preparation of the CSA season including communicating with
member families, updating the memberships, ensuring technical tools are available and ready
to carry out efficient and reliable bimonthly delivery. The CSA Member Specialist will
coordinate CSA volunteers and track program data as well as support with delivery of produce
twice per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate CSA production and delivery to approximately 150 member- families.
- Identifying and manage pick-up points in the greater Pajaro Valley
- Coordinate technical and communication tools including mapping, delivery routes,
texting, donation spreadsheet, and CSA program event calendars. - Engage, train and support new and existing CSA volunteers.
- Ensure CSA packing supplies are available and ready for use according to food safety
guidelines. - Some harvesting of produce at Esperanza Community Farms
- Interface with community partners including CSA members and organizational pick-up
points - Communicate with and orient new CSA member families
- Manage data collection including development of pre-post surveys and donation
tracking - Support delivery driver twice weekly in delivery of product baskets.
- Support communications team by taking pictures or/and video of events and providing
the finished images or videos.

Farm-to-Door CSA Delivery Driver

Position Overview
The CSA Delivery Driver is reliable and concerned with transporting produce baskets and
customer satisfaction. This position will deliver produce baskets (CSA) in a safe, timely manner
and will support in the production of baskets and coordination of deliveries twice weekly. The
Delivery Driver will ensure transportation vehicle/s are well maintained, trouble-shoot
transportation-related issues, pick-up empty CSA baskets, and will involve some communication
with member families.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support with the development of the CSA delivery schedule and weekly plan
- Implement the delivery schedule and plan
- Organize and arrange program supplies and materials to ensure they are well-
maintained and properly stored. - Support with CSA production line at farm and ensure organized load and unload process
- Transport vegetables and baskets from farm to members’ doorstop twice per week.
- Ensure delivery vehicle/s are up to date with maintenance schedule and appearance.
- Interface with ECF stakeholders and partners as needed
- Support communications team for F2C by documenting as needed for reporting and
data collection purposes - Support CSA member specialist with program-related purchasing
- Provide fill-in support with member-families in the areas of communication,
coordination and scheduling.

Project Manager: Capacity Building and Technical Assistance
20 hrs per week / $22-25/hr depending on experience
Position Overview
This position is responsible for facilitating technical assistance and capacity building support to organic farmers in the CA. central coast. The role includes co-developing needs assessments, creating workshop curriculums and designing bilingual Eng/Spanish training sessions using a popular education approach. The success of this project will be evaluated by ECF through pre and post surveys with farmers and buyers and tracking their confi dence in managing, marketing, and networking within the specialty crop business. Additionally, the surveys will assess the development of technical skills such as invoice creation and budgeting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement a comprehensive needs assessment of specialty crop farmers including Latinx and Indigenous Mexican Farmers working in the central coast.
- Collaborate with small organic farmers to identify challenges and solutions in producing, distributing, and consuming specialty crops.
- Develop bilingual curriculums for workshops about farm business practice, marketing specialty, economic success skill and other needs identifi ed by farmers.
- Co-develop pre and post surveys for workshops to meet workshop learning objectives.
- Coordinate related activities with other ECF staff including the Evaulation Consultant, Market Strategist, Administrative Co-Leader and Communications Specialist.

This position will focus on enhancing market access for small farmers, particularly farmers of color in the Pájaro and Salinas Valleys. The Market Strategist will track and analyze changes in a diverse set of local markets, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to the project’s objective of building power with and among farmers to increase distribution of specialty crops. This role supports the mission of
Esperanza Community Farms (ECF) to foster economic success, sustainable agriculture practices, and
equitable market access.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and document monthly changes in the number of market access points for participating
- farmers.
- Identify additional boxes and pallets of specialty crops added to access points.
- Support the team in tracking the growth of farmers sales of specialty crops..
- Collaborate with ECF staff and consultants to evaluate trends in the specialty crops industry..
- Provide actionable insights based on data analysis to enhance market access strategies.
- Identify partnerships and opportunities to expand market reach, particularly with institutions serving marginalized communities.
- Work closely with project managers and participate on workshop and curriculum development to ensure cohesive efforts across activities.
- Contribute to pre- and post-project evaluations, helping assess the confidence and skill development of farmers.
